I see dogs and cats every day, but rabbits, guinea pigs and the other small, quiet patients are why I became a vet. They hide pain well, so I go slowly and look closely.

My week
My week, by the book.
I work the later shifts, so evenings and Saturday mornings are the easiest times to see me. Tuesday is small pet day, with the quiet room kept free for them.

Day to day
What I spend my days on.
- Rabbit and guinea pig checkups
- Tooth trims and dental checks for small pets
- Diet plans with more hay than you’d think
- Quiet consults in the cat room
- Nail trims for anyone who will sit still
- Teaching owners to spot hidden pain
In my words
A rabbit will never tell you it feels sick. You learn to read the ears, the posture and how much hay is left in the morning.
